Property Tax Calculator

Govstack's Property Tax Calculator module is an add-on service that allows you to create an interactive display of how municipal organizations use property tax revenue.

Tax data and label customization are added to the tool through the use of an Excel spread sheet.

To help you build your own spread sheet we have provided an example data file.

For the best results we recommend that you follow each of the steps below in order.

1. Customizing labels and fields

You can edit the dictionary section of the spread sheet to change the labels, field names, and messages in the public display. This is optional, but if your organization uses different language or terms it can help make the experience more accessible for your site visitors.

2. Add field data to your spreadsheet

Add Years, Wards, Categories, Classes, and Allotments to your spreadsheet.

When creating Category rates to complete your spreadsheet these entries populate the dropdowns to help you create consistent entries.

3. Create the Category Rate data table

Use the information for years, wards, categories, classes, and allotments to create the Category Rate data table

The Category Rate table combines all the information from your various worksheets and produces the information that is displayed when site visitors use the Property Tax Calculator.

Note that you can copy and paste data in the Category Rate field to help speed the process.

4. Send us your completed spread sheet

Send your completed spread sheet to your GHD project representative to have it uploaded to your Property Tax Calculator.
