Customizing Labels and Fields

We recognize that not all organization use the same terminology when dealing with taxation. To facilitate these variations the spread sheet used to populate the Property Tax Calculator includes a dictionary. Altering the terms in the dictionary changes the text that is displayed in the public interface.

We recommend making any customizations to the dictionary prior to adding the rest of you property tax data.

Editing the Dictionary

To edit the public facing labels in the Property Tax Calculator tool follow these steps:

  1. Open the property tax calculator excel spread sheet. You can get a copy of this from your GHD project representative or download an example file here
  2. Select the 'Dictionary' tab
  3. Edit the entries in the English column as required. See the list below for the details on the effects of each entry
  4. Repeat your edits in each column for alternate languages. This is only required if you have a multilingual website
  5. Save the document

Customizable Labels

Here we list each of the customizable labels and point out where they appear in the tool. Click the screen shot for an enlarged view.

Please note that we use the default labels to identify these entries. If you have customized your dictionary your labels may vary. Entries are listed in the order they appear in the dictionary for clarity.
