WATERLOO, Ontario – September 21, 2026 – Govstack today announced the introduction of its modernized subscription plans, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of its digital government platform. The updated plans reflect substantial investments made across the platform over the past several years, including major infrastructure upgrades, enhanced security capabilities, a new compliance platform, modern content management experiences, and the foundation for next-generation AI-powered government services.
As part of this transition, Govstack's legacy pricing plans will be retired and will no longer be available for renewal. Existing customers will have access to preferred transition options designed to recognise their longstanding partnership and support a smooth migration to the enhanced platform offerings.
"The expectations placed on governments have changed dramatically," said Ali Carden, Global Practice Director, Products & Platforms at Govstack. "Municipalities are being asked to deliver more services digitally, meet growing accessibility and compliance requirements, strengthen cybersecurity, and prepare for an AI-enabled future, all while operating with limited resources. Our modernized plans reflect the significant investments we've made to help government organisations meet these challenges with confidence."
Over the last several years, Govstack has transformed from a traditional municipal website platform into a comprehensive digital government platform designed to help public sector organisations deliver services more efficiently, improve resident experiences, and reduce operational risk.
Key investments include:
-
Major cloud infrastructure enhancements to improve platform resiliency, scalability, performance, and security.
-
A completely rebuilt content management experience with modern design capabilities, improved usability, and greater flexibility for government teams.
-
A next-generation compliance platform designed to help organisations manage accessibility, content governance, regulatory requirements, and digital risk.
-
Advanced security investments that provide enterprise-grade protection for critical government services and citizen-facing digital experiences.
-
Continued reinvestment across the platform to modernise legacy capabilities and deliver new innovation.
These investments establish the foundation for Govstack's next phase of growth, including the introduction of ServiceHub, Citizen CRM, site-wide content quality management capabilities, and the complete modernisation of legacy product areas such as forms, events, calendars, and directories.
The company also highlighted its long-term commitment to helping governments prepare for the growing role of artificial intelligence, virtual workers, and digital agents in public service delivery.
"We believe governments are entering a new era of service delivery," added Carden. "AI-powered assistants, virtual workers, and intelligent automation will become increasingly important tools for municipalities seeking to improve service levels while addressing workforce and budget constraints. The investments we've made today ensure our customers have a secure, scalable, and future-ready platform that can support these advancements tomorrow."
The modernized subscription plans will continue to be offered under Govstack's Standard, Premium, and Enterprise tiers. While the tier names remain unchanged, each plan has been redesigned to better align with the capabilities, services, security, and ongoing innovation available through the Govstack platform today.
"The value delivered by the platform today is fundamentally different from what existed when many of our legacy pricing structures were first introduced," said Carden. "These new plans create a sustainable framework that allows us to continue investing aggressively in innovation, security, compliance, and customer success while ensuring governments have access to the modern tools they need to serve their communities."
Govstack recognises the loyalty and partnership of its existing customers and will offer dedicated transition programmes and preferred migration options to support customers moving from legacy plans to the modernized platform offerings.
The new subscription plans are effective immediately for new customers and will apply to renewing customers as legacy agreements reach their renewal dates.
